MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY

HELLO GUYS! This Saturday I’ll be celebrating one of my favorites days in the year, the Mexican Independence! Usually I go to Las Vegas, but this year I went to “Chicano Park,” an award-winning park located underneath the Coronado Bay Bridge. The park is noted for its Mexican-style murals painted by local artists on the bridge abutments and pillars. These photos are my dedication to an amazing country and it’s history. VIVA MEXICO!

Jeans for YOUR Body Type

Jeans for YOUR Body Type
When it comes to buying jeans, guys have it easy.  All they need to know is waist size and leg length and they’re good to go.  Women, on the other hand, have much more to consider when it comes to buying jeans that can take us from drab to fab in the time it takes to slip them on.  So, how do you know which style to buy that hugs you in all of the right places?  We’ve taken the guesswork out of it for you, and found out the best styles for your shape; whether you’re a pear, an hourglass, an apple, or a ruler.
If you’re a Pear:  You’ll want to find something that caters to your bottom-heavy curves with a contoured cut that comes up higher in the back, won’t gap at the waist, and offers a wider leg to balance your hips.  Jeans in a dark wash with tone-on-tone stitching also creates the illusion of a long, lean line.
If you’re an Hourglass:  Embrace your curves with flattering jeans in a boot cut style with a dark wash.  You’ll also want to make sure they have a mid-rise waist so they fit snug on your hips and create smooth, lovely lines.  Golden stitching and pocket details will also show off and enhance your curves.
If you’re an Apple:  Show off your sexy legs while minimizing bulk around the middle with a sleek pair of legging jeans, also known as jeggings. Part jeans, part leggings, they showcase slender thighs while minimizing your midsection.  With a higher-than-usual stretch content than other jeans, you’ll get a slim fit that hugs every contour in all the right places.
If you’re a Ruler:  Emphasize and create the illusion of curves by wearing skinny jeans, jeans with a low-waist, or high-waisted jeans with a belt to highlight the waist area.  Straight cut jeans are also a great choice because they taper slightly at the ankle and draw attention to the size of your hips and thighs.

Sunglasses in the Snow

Sunglasses in the Snow

Sunglasses in the Snow

The summer heat may be over but your eyes are far from out of the danger zone when it comes to the sun. When it snows, regardless of whether the sun is out or not, UVA/UVB is reflected off of the stark white and can affect your eyes. When there is a lot of snow on the ground, you risk becoming snow blind if you don’t wear the proper eye protection. Sunglasses are absolutely a must in the fall and winter and with snow hitting the ground for the first time in the season already (albeit early) there is no time like the present to get a new pair of shades.

Things to look for in a pair of sunglasses this time of year:

UV Protection: UVB exposure is credited as the cause of cataracts in old age. Much like you can get sunburned, UVB rays can cause serious damage to your eyes.

Polarized Lenses: If you are doing outdoor sports, you want sunglasses with polarized lenses. These glasses reduce glare and make your overall environment much sharper.

Mirrored Lenses: It’s not just about being mysterious. True, other people won’t be able to see your eyes. But in conditions when glare is strong, they can be very helpful.

If you are missing a hat, you may be lacking a key piece of your ensemble. Everyone from Kim K to Jay-Z is rocking a hat this fall. Not only is this essential piece of headwear going to keep you warm, some of hat styles have become the hot topic of the moment.

Baseball caps with attitude

If rude shirts are in, hats with attitude are practically entrenched. Hats from Red Monkey are for you if you don’t care if you tell everyone what is on your mind and aren’t afraid to stir up a little controversy.

Our favorite: The anti-anti-Semitic representing – Fuhrer Trucker Hat.

Army hats demand attention

Fitted hats have it together and army hats show straight up style with a tough look we love.

Our favorite: Military OD green realness – A Kurtz Luther Military Hat Cap (Military Green)

Designer caps show head to toe style

Dress out from head to toe in style with a designer hat. These fitted designer hats cap off and complete your look to the tee.

Favorite for Women: A softer look like the UGG® Australia Cable Knit Beanie will complement that fall cool-weather glow you get when the temperature drops.

Claudia Schiffer in Minnetonka Tramper Boots

Fall is here and that means one thing in terms of footwear. Get out your boots! With the return of the skinny jean, the tops of boots are getting more play than ever. So boring, run-of-the-mill, leather shoes and boots aren’t the only styles you will find out there this season. Versatile boots are what’s hot this fall. This season, boots have fur, studs, tassels, suede and even buttons. They fold down, zip up and get scrunched, some styles do all three! Boring, be gone!

If you love the native look and like popular UGG® Australia boots, UGG® has some competition with Minnetonka on the rise. Stay tuned next week to learn more about this rising star in the boot world.
